My Story
Hi there! I’m Patricia Favila, a geography and environmental science student at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) . I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to the small town of Bloomington, Illinois, 17 years ago. My journey has been anything but ordinary. Moving to the United States was a culture shock—I had no idea what life would be like, but I knew I had to trust the process, embracing the good, the struggles, and everything in between. That mindset has shaped who I am today: a resilient and curious individual passionate about exploring the connections between people, places, and the environment. From a kid who was once wide-eyed and unsure about what the future held, I’ve grown into someone deeply committed to understanding and addressing the challenges that shape our world.
